Except for specific commercial vehicles, the license plate is displayed on the rear of the vehicle. It is to be placed in the upper right-hand corner of the metal plate and made visible to law enforcement. In addition, a renewable decal that displays the month and year of expiration, the license plate number, and a decal number are issued for each registration. The plate will be replaced with a new license plate (new plate number) during the tenth year. Metal plates are issued to the owner for ten (10) years providing the owner maintains the vehicle or trailer registration in his or her name.
